Partners in Business: Working Together for a Common Goal

Acceleron was founded by Donald and Gail Montano over 35 years ago. The business was built on their old-fashioned philosophies of hard work, honesty and good work ethics. Acceleron has maintained the traditional values that were the cornerstone of building our industrial nation, and we have carried them through two generations. Even in these present times of wavering principles and legal complications, we maintain that our word is our bond and a handshake is our contract. It is not just about dollars and cents – it is about commitment, relationships and service that go well beyond today's ordinary standards.

"The man who will use his skill and constructive imagination
to see how much he can give for a dollar, instead
of how little he can give for a dollar, is bound to succeed."
– Henry Ford

This philosophy has allowed Acceleron to establish a very loyal customer base that is now the foundation of who we are and what we do. The concept of Partners in Business is actually quite simple. If we can build a trusting relationship and offer solutions to any company who has a standard or special product requiring our services in Electron Beam and Laser Beam Technology, we can both accomplish a common goal of success.

Our customers' needs are one of our highest priorities. We will do everything we can to help when one of our customers is struggling to meet their delivery deadlines. We will work outside of our normal business hours and on weekends, when necessary. We will purchase new equipment if there is a cost savings to your program or part. We will use our network of outside vendors if needed. These are just a few of the practices that allow us to form this type of relationship with so many of our customers. We are a service company, and we do exactly that – we service.

It is our pleasure to share with you some of the Partners in Business that Acceleron is currently working with. Please feel free to preview their company profiles and visit their Web sites to see what they might be able to offer you.

Applied Porous TechnologiesApplied Porous Technologies, Inc.
Applied Porous Technologies of Tariffville, CT, is a world leader in the design, development and manufacturing of sintered porous metal media, sintered porous metal components and engineered sintered porous metal assemblies. Typical applications include: filtration, flow control, aeration, sensor protection, chromatography frits, venting, applicator rolls, breathers, flame arrestors and fuel cell components.

Acceleron has been Partners in Business with APT since they opened their doors in the spring of 2000. From the very beginning, Acceleron has provided services and support for the various welding, cutting, drilling and machining applications needed to produce the many different component parts and assemblies that APT offers. Today, as their exclusive electron beam and laser provider, we work closely with their engineering group to assist with cost-effective designs for their development and manufacturing requirements. The two companies continue to collaborate and support each other to maximize their business goals.

Brush Wellman
Brush Wellman is the leading global supplier of high-performance Copper, Nickel and Beryllium alloys and the only fully integrated producer of Beryllium and Beryllium Oxide in the world. Brush Wellman has partnered with Acceleron to provide near-net-shape AlBeMet® blanks manufactured using the AlBeWeld® process. These blanks dramatically reduce material consumption by eliminating the need to machine large amounts of material, and thus result in lower costs. In addition, internal features can be pre-machined, allowing passages and cavities not attainable by machining solid blocks of materials. The process provides excellent repeatability and structural integrity and can even be used as part of a repair strategy to correct manufacturing errors.

Acceleron has the trained personnel and work practices to safely provide components. We and Brush Wellman look forward to a strong partnership in the coming years.

Kamatics CorporationKamatics Corporation
Kamatics Corp. is located in Bloomfield, CT. They supply self-lubricating bearings, shaft and flexible couplings and composite flyer bows.

Acceleron has been electron beam welding for Kamatics Corp. since the beginning of our business in 1974, when we were known as Don Montano Associates or DMA. Our partnership is based on workmanship and deliveries; often we are asked to turn their bearings around within an hour's notice. This is only one reason why we are also their exclusive electron beam welding source. Our welders work one-on-one with their engineering department for all of their weld development programs. We have a very respectful, open and strong relationship with this long-time Partner.
